Complexity: Easy Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 Frozen waffles (vanilla or plain)
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1/2 cup Marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup Strawberries (sliced)
  • For dusting Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. 1

Toast the frozen waffles according to package directions until they are crispy and golden brown. Set aside.

  2. 2

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add the semi-sweet chocolate chips and butter.

  3. 3

Stir the mixture until the chocolate and butter are fully melted and smooth, creating a rich ganache.

  4. 4

Add the vanilla extract to the ganache and stir to combine.

  5. 5

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the marshmallows by microwaving them for 20-30 seconds, stirring halfway through.

  6. 6

On a serving plate, create the first layer by placing two waffles side by side.

  7. 7

Spread a layer of melted marshmallows over the waffles, followed by a drizzle of chocolate ganache.

  8. 8

Add a few strawberry slices on top of the marshmallow and ganache layer.

  9. 9

Place the second set of waffles on top to form a ‘sandwich.’

  10. 10

Pour more chocolate ganache over the top of the waffles, letting it drizzle down the sides.

  11. 11

Garnish the top with additional strawberry slices and dust powdered sugar over the entire cake for a spooky, Upside Down-inspired presentation.

  12. 12

Serve immediately while the waffles are still crispy and the chocolate ganache is warm.
