Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 cup (softened) Unsalted butter
- 1 3/4 cups Granulated sugar
- 4 large Eggs
- 2 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 cup Whole milk
- As needed Red food coloring
- As needed Blue food coloring
- As needed Yellow food coloring
- 3 cups (store-bought or homemade) Buttercream frosting
Instructions
-
1
Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans. Line them with parchment paper and set aside.
-
2
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
-
3
In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
-
4
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
-
5
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture in three parts, alternating with the milk until you have a smooth batter.
-
6
Divide the batter into three equal parts in separate bowls. Add red food coloring to one bowl, blue food coloring to another, and yellow food coloring to the last bowl. Stir each until you reach the desired color intensity.
-
7
Pour each colored batter into the prepared cake pans, creating colorful marbled layers if desired, or bake as solid layers.
-
8
Bake the cakes in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-
9
Remove from the oven and let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
-
10
Once the cakes are fully cooled, level the tops if necessary, and frost with your buttercream frosting.
-
11
Stack the cakes and frost the outside. Decorate with additional colorful frosting swirls or sprinkles if desired.
-
12
Slice and serve your vibrant Trump cake!
